Crazy comb development. It's like a tiny pea comb attached to a single comb at the top of the head. Lol she's squatting now. I'm wondering if the egg will be green. Maybe an Olive egger??

Her comb looks like a normal single to me, but maybe it’s just the angle?

It's hard to get a photo of what I'm describing. The comb is not attached to the top of the head and reminds me of the goofy EE pea comb on one of my ladies. Lol

19 weeks. No eggs.

She is beautiful! I enjoyed watching this progression and the info about the genetics! I have a blue copper marans with a darker comb and it’s really pretty! A nice difference from the usual coloring in the face! Mine is about 8 weeks old now, so it’s nice to see yours for comparisons as she ages! Thank you for sharing!

Here is my Pookie! She will be 5 months in about 17 days! Her wattles are turning a bit pink but her comb, face, and earlobes are still fully black!

She’s so pretty! I’m curious to see if my girl gets more pink or more black as she ages! Her brother had a more patterned color scheme of pink splashed by black. I was so worried at first that it meant something was wrong haha. Beginner chicken owner anxieties…there are so many!

I got my first egg today. It came from one of these ladies in the photos. It wasn't in a nesting box but at least it was in the coop.

Looks like a normal floppy single to me. Congrats on the egg!
