Black Comb and Face Marans

Thank you for the explanation. After looking at the different color varieties of Dutch Bantams, I'm just not sure about Beatrice's color. Her blue body plumage seems a little too dark blue for a Blue Cream Light Brown. The breeder I purchased the eggs from kept all of her Dutch Bantams together so I should keep that in mind too. As for my Serama, Marionette, she is a darker blue, so if I'm understanding correctly, that could explain her gypsy face. Thank you again for taking the time to break this down. @RoostersAreAwesome has also spent a lot of time talking genetics with me and I really appreciate both of you so much ❤️
No problem!

No. Silver laced Wyandottes are partridge based. The best example of a partridge base with no modifiers would be the brown Leghorns pictured above. It is more often seen with the pattern gene making what people call "partridge" and is the base for silver pencilled, multiple laced, dark (as in Brahmas), and what most Columbian birds are.
I thought brown leghorns were wild type? They’re pretty similar phenotypically.

I believe your Dutch is either a project blue birchen or a mixed color (perhaps silver x blue/splash).

Either the color or color cross seem highly likely 💜 You have such an amazing eye at this stuff and I am so grateful for the help

They are wild type, but these ones aren't. Technically, it's light brown that are wild type, dark brown that are partridge with mahogany, and these that are "brown", simply partridge:

Notice the brown breast on the hen and the radically different chick down color.
I don't know if these exist in the US? @The Moonshiner would know better than me.

This is why I don't like names like "light brown", "brown," and "dark brown" though. It makes it so hard to put what you mean clear.
Much like Lavender, Self Blue and Blue, especially for anyone that hasn't had the luxury of learning a little bit about the difference from you guys. I suspect the different browns are even more difficult though

I feel like there should be a rant thread where we can just rant about the colors that are unnecessarily confusing.
