I like this BLCM rooster but not sure he is dark enough to darken my hens. Not only are these BLCM hens lacking in copper but the shade of blue is light.

Just got my first pullet egg. Pullets are 28 weeks old tomorrow. Tomorrow is the first day of winter. My one year old hens have not started laying after molting, would like to start incubating in Feb. for March hatch. TOm

Tom, Very nice! My hens first egg was pretty small. Your flock is looking good. I hope you have a good hatching season. I am getting the hatching itch too. I think I may order a few more BLCM and maybe a few splash soon.

I have 18 BCMs incubating on day 8, looks like 100% fertility!

Awesome! Good luck with your hatch! Yes those are the darkest I’ve ever gotten. Wish they were all that dark. #egggoals
