Chirping
July 13
Bought 15 Black Copper Marans eggs from North of 89 Farm (Ontario, Canada)
July 15
After letting the eggs rest and letting the incubator (Brinsea Ovation eco) run all Sunday I placed the eggs in at 2:00 pm
Humidity was maintained at about 40%
July 16
Added 4 Cream Legbar eggs at 7:30pm
July 22
Candled the 4 Cream Legbar eggs, they all look good. Didn't even try with the BCMs. Nobody smelled bad. Left them all in.
August 2
Filled up water reservoir, went into lock down.
August 3
One good pip and several smaller ones around 9pm
August 4
9:15am the good pip started to unzip
9:50 the chick freed itself from the egg, it has giant feet and was face planting into everyone else
There are at least 5 other pips in the Marans eggs but none so far in the Legbars
Humidity went up to 80% after the hatch so I opened the valve a little.
My parents dropped by around 12pm and by 12:48 the second chick had hatched, we completely missed it.
