Any idea where to get a show quality pure-bred? I'm really interested in showing.Yup, A lot of hatchery quality Cayugas will have patches of white feathers here and there.. And some will start to appear as the get older. You can see in the picture that my Cayuga has some white feathers coming in but it's still a pure-bred Cayuga.. just not show quality.
Yes...Crosses can lay the blackish eggs..That's a lot of white for a cayuga.. Could possibly be a mix although I don't think you'd get black eggs from a cayuga mix. I still think it's a Cayuga duck though..
You can try and look online for Cayuga show quality hatching eggs or go to some Poultry shows and ask around.Any idea where to get a show quality pure-bred? I'm really interested in showing.
Then a cross is more likely... Almost reminds me of a black Swedish duck..Yes...Crosses can lay the blackish eggs..
Do the Ayam Cemanis lay a black egg? I forget.I don't either, and I never saw one before that or since then. I figured it was a one off deal.
