The thing is if she just began laying after a spell of rest..The eggs will be darker and fade as she keeps laying. Almost like the paint booth runs out of paint?..Make sense?..

Ayam Cemani don't lay black eggs. Some Penedesencas in the UK produced eggs that were almost black.

Do you have any Cayuga drakes? Is that hen separated from other drakes or don't you care?
That since the first question was whether to incubate or not.

I would care but that's just me. I'm not a big fan of mutts of any species which includes designer dogs.

That's OK. We're all different with our own goals and purposes.
I hate to be such a fuddy duddy.
I know crosses can be good robust animals.
I'm not telling others what to do but I don't have the time or space to deal with any animals outside of my goals of improving a breed.
