Black Friday freaks...I need advice for hitting WalMart sales!!!

Oh my! Have I got stories!

Walmarts...the ones in Arkansas...but check yours for your area...
are open 24 hours (if they are classified as a supercenter)
you get there at 3:00 stand in front of the item you want...they will radio to employees when it's time to cut the paper...once paper is cut (this is not till the advertised time....but the line forms EARLY!! around the objects on sale)
you can then put in your cart...and rush to the next item.

Other stores...I hit Kohl's, Old Navy, etc....you stand outside in a line...which usually looses it's order when the door opens...and you rush in to find whatever item you are wanting...last year...Kohls started giving numbers out at the jewelry and electronics...so be vocal...ask "Do we take numbers"...I saw people stand inl line with no numbers...I told those I knew ahead of time. Oh, Walmarts takes numbers in their electronic section...and certain items are NOT guarnteed to be at each store, and some of their big items...maybe 2! NOT kidding...I called around after a disappointing year 2 years ago and spoke with managers.
Some they have 50 items...(I'm talking in the electronics, TV's)

Best Advice...don't go alone. You need someone to stand in front of items you can't get to, and pick up one for you while they are there an vise versa.

i got a great deal on a camera last year for my son and I got a better price at walmart online. They have several bundles on sale right now for cameras, online. They dont offer them in the store.

I wish we still could afford to shop at the mom and pa stores but reality is that Walmart is the best price. If I can buy soap for less I'm going to buy it at Walmart. Even if I don't like the way they do things. I've learned over the years that I have to take care of myself.

Okay, thanks so much for the advice!!! I went to black-friday.net and saw the ads. I know what I'm after, the only things I need are the two cheaper cameras. I just don't know what to expect!!! I'm not sure if the cameras are gonna be behind the counter or in the case, and I'm planning on being there at like midnight to wait. That much is for sure. I know some ppl have gotten black eyes and pushed down and all that other great stuff, and although I'm more of a pacifist I have definately been in a mosh pit before, I know what to do!!! LOL!!! Thanks for the advice, my wal mart is 24 hrs so I can go in whenever I want, but I wanna make sure I'm next to the item I want. I just don't know if the cameras will be behind the photo center or in the case, and there's a good 15 ft between the counter and the case so if I'm standing in front of the wrong one there's about 20 ppl that could end up ahead of me. I'm hoping I can find an associate who can tell me where to be waiting for the cameras, cause that's all that matters. I wanna be in front of the line!!!

I know how a lot of ppl feel about wal mart, but if they have the price I need that's where I'm going!!! I don't have the $$$ to be picky!!!

UGH...I never do black friday sales, except.... The only place I go on black friday is JoAnns. When we lived in the Houston area, I had to line up outside at 5 am to catch the good things on sale when they open the doors at 6am. But here in Amarillo, I'm lucky...I can wait until 7-8ish and still get everything I want....

So u were able to get the black friday advertised sale online?!!?! That sounds promising, if that's possible I'll save myself the hassle!!!

Ours is open on Thanksgiving and they have the merchandise shrink wrapped. They don't cut it until the sale starts, but there is a crowd around the pallet.
(I did this ONCE for something for my niece.)
Some had cell phones and were working with others stationed around the store. It was like a military operation. I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.
Good luck!

Amy did you get the JoAnn's flyer? I just got it yesterday. Did you see all the great sales? Plus, I can do on-line!!! I used to manage a Jo-Ann's. That was THE BEST job ever.
Hugs and good luck! I'll be shopping online
