I too have heard all the bad things that people say about
WalMart, But I worked for them for 3 1/2 years, I started as a cashier and worked my way up the ladder to an Asst. Mgr position. I am now off on permanent medical leave, although I wish I was still there.
Alot of the bad publicity for them is being caused by the unions, to which
WalMart doesn't feel the need for. Nor do I, and I grew up in Detroit, which is pratically a ghost town now. They do take excellent care of their employees for the most part.
Now as far as Black Friday goes, for 24 hour stores, they will bring the merchandise out to the floor around 2:00 AM , the sale is usually from 6:00AM until 10:00 AM. When it comes to electronic items each store is giving a percentage of the total items listed, it depends on what their market is. And yes for certain items, like the Nintendo WIi, they can have a very limited amount. Those kind of things are dependent on the MFG., not necessarily the company or the store. What I would suggest is that, if you can, go in ahead of time (Like between now and Wednesday) and talk to either the manager of the electronics dept or the photo lab and ask them about the specific items you want and ask them if they can give you a heads up on what they plan to do for BF if they are listed as BF items.
Since
WalMart did away with Layaway 2 years ago, Black Friday is not as crazy as it used to be. Most 24 hour stores, and all other stores should have all registers open by 6:00 Am to accommadate the shopping public.
By the way, if your local
WalMart is a 24 hour SuperCenter, the only day they close is from 6:00pm Christmas Eve until 6:00AM on the 26th of December.
Bring the ad with you when you go, or cut out the item that you want from the ad. Most WalMarts will still price match competitors ads if you have the ad with you.
Happy Hunting, I'm glad I don't have to work a 5th BF! LOL
