Black Sex Link- Ready to lay?

My Black Sex Link Jolene is 17 weeks- I have noticed her comb and waddles getting larger and more red- see attached pic- do you think she will start laying anytime soon?

When you touch the comb/wattles do they feel supple and look nice and waxy or are they more dry feeling?

I am going on vacation in 2 weeks- I am hoping I will be there for the first egg! Do you think she will lay in the next two weeks?

Her comb and waddles are still a little dry feeling to the touch

Has she squatted yet? I think thats the biggest sign. Reach down to touch her. If she isnt squatting then it will be a while yet. If she is squatting then it wont be long.

I don't think she is squatting yet, but I will check again today, so if she isn't squatting I guess it could still be a few more weeks then? I am in no rush- just would like it to happen when I am home and not on vacation leaving them with my #1 and #2 chicken sitting trusted pals!

My one with the biggest red comb who I thought would be first to lay ended up being last to lay. I think the squatting is the biggest sign but just my opinion.
