Black Sex Link Roo With Hen Markings?!

I'm leaning towards point of lay bsl experiencing a new range of vocalizations. Can you please suow the bird in a natural standing position not being held?

here are some more shots, now I feel even less confident that this is a roo. maybe I should just hold off and give it some more time. It is not being showy like a rooster, not trying to corner and mount the hens. seems to me that about now the spurs would be more pronounced.

Definitely a pullet, a cockerel at that age would have long and pointy hackle/saddle feathers.

I'm feeling encouraged, but how do you all explain the attempts at crowing?

There's another possibility that no one has mentioned, and that is that it's a female whose ovary has been damaged. When this happens a hen will take on characteristics of a rooster, including crowing and enlarged comb as I see with this bird. I'm not saying that's the case with your chicken but it is a definite possibility because everything fits. If this is the case she will act more and more like a rooster and will never lay an egg.
