What is a Black Sex Link?
Black Sex Links are a sex-linked cross (or hybrid) between a Rhode Island Red Rooster and a Barred Rock Hen. This cross between two dual-purpose heritage breeds creates a beautiful bird that has a good Feed to Egg Conversion Ratio, is an excellent Egg Layer, and has a wonderful temperament.

Some quick facts:

• Type: Dual Purpose​
• Egg Color: Brown​
• Pen or Free-Range: Does well with Both ​
• Weight (Hens): 6-7 lbs. ​
• Weight (Roosters): 8-9 lbs. ​
• Egg Production: Approx. 200-300 eggs a year​
• Good for Beginners: Yes!​
• Breeding Two Black Sex Links will not make more sex links. Think of it like Mules except they're not sterile. ​

   2. While I am local to Pottsville, PA, pickups can be made at my mother's house in the Birdsboro area if needed.
