I am concerned my 15 month old Pino has some black on her comb and face. I see displays no other symptoms and is eating well. She is my sweet egg laying machine and lays daily I am worried about her Haven’t made any recent changes to bedding or enclosure. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I would say that the black stuff is dried blood. Happens to my chickens sometimes. Another chicken is likely bullying it.

She might have been pecked or injured her comb causing the black marks. I would spend time with them, and watch for any bullying.
Thank you. I was worried that might be the case. She is just the sweetest but unfortunately I I am afraid she’s at the bottom of the pecking order. When I went out to check on them tonight they were all on the roost except for her so I picked her up and put her with the other seven. I will definitely keep an eye on them

Thanks. She’s my little buddy and my best egg layer I’ll keep my eye on them.
