Blackhead-resistant turkey breed?

I would love to raise a few turkey next year. My problem is that we have 5 chickens that have ranged all over our 7 acres. Also, we frequently have wild turkey passing through (in fact we seem to have a resident hen right now who likes to dust bathe in our yard). Are there any breeds of turkey that would be more resistant to the diseases carried by the chickens and wild turkey?

My first advice is to contact your county agent to see if there have ever been any instances of blackhead. Our land and part of the county has no such reports and we've not had problems with the disease although we certainly have chickens near the turkeys.

We don't have issues with Blackhead in our area and mine occationally run together with no issues. But definatly check with the county or Fish & Game first
