Shimmer crept into the middle ranker's den and over to Axel. "Wake up, sleepy head," she whispered in his ear. "Huh? Bella? I don't wanna play right now, I wanna sleep..." Axel mumbled, his eyes still closed. Shimmer chuckled. "Open your eyes." Axel rolled over. "Bella....not right now....I'll be up in an hour..." "Silly, I'm not Bella. Just open your eyes." Shimmer smiled. Axel groaned and opened one eye. Immediately he jumped up. "Shimmer?" he said in disbelief. She embraced him with one wing. "How did you escape?" "A human let me go." Axel just stared at her like she'd gone crazy. "That's impossible! Humans don't do things like that!" "Well....apparently they do sometimes," Shimmer responded. "Now, what do say we go get some breakfast?" She grinned. Axel's face lit up. "Yeah! Breakfast!" He shot out of the huge cave and toward the food pile, with Shimmer close behind. Silly fledglings, she thought, giggling to herself. I wonder where Spyder is..... thoughts of Spyder and their chat earlier that morning returned to her mind. 'I like you Shimmer.....I need you to know that' echoed through her head as she made her way to the food pile, where Axel was busy eating a rabbit.

A large deer fell from spyders claws as he dropped it in the food pile, he spotted shimmer and axel and a small smile spread across his face. He landed and folded his wings tightly, " hello you two, enjoying your rabbit axel?! " He asked in a friendly voice

and stepped forward. "Hello." Scarlet said to Fulgur who dipped his head respectfully to the leader. "I found Max with this strange fledgling." Fulgur informed her.

"Oh! Uh....hi Spyder!" Shimmer said cheerfully. Axel looked up at Spyder. "Oh yeah, it's delicious!" he chirped.

She turned to Max. "I think I'm good for now, but Axel might want to." Axel heard 'hunting,' and his head whipped around to Max. "YAY! But wait, who's gonna go with us? We need an adult, remember?" Shimmer thought for a moment. "Maybe Angel can go with you. Angel?" She called. Angel crept around the edge of the clearing and came up to the others. "Yes?" She said. "Hey!" Shimmer responded. "Is it okay with you if you accompany Axel and Max on their hunting trip?" "Uh, sure!" Angel said in an abnormally high-pitched voice, wincing at her failed attempt at trying not to be socially awkward. So much for that, Angel thought. "Great!" Shimmer responded. "Just make sure not to go east, I think that's where I got captured, somewhere around there. What about you, Spyder? You wanna join them or stay here?"
