"Bring it on!" Shimmer shouted. She flew straight up into the air and shot down in the direction of the lake, the scenery blurring around her.

Spyder caught up to her, his wing tip touching hers as they flew side by side. he grinned widely before diving straight down to the lakes surface, just seconds from hitting the water .

Shimmer could feel herself filling up with butterflies. Her smile was as wide as could be. Then she felt the startlingly hard sensation of hitting the surface of the lake, causing little droplets of water to spray everywhere and a wave of ripples expanding out and fading away across the lake. She closed her eyes and clumsily flapped her way back to the surface of the water. "Haha! Did we tie? I think we tied," she said to Spyder.

Spyder came up sputtering with laughter. " I think you won, shimmer " he says kindly, shaking his fur and sending droplets everywhere

Shimmer made her way out of the lake and onto the sandy bank. Tiny beads of water rolled off her scales, making little wet indentions in the smooth, tide-worn sand around her. "I can't really speak for that since all I really saw was a blur of trees and then I hit the water, but okay!" She laughed, shaking the water off herself. Shimmer took a moment to stare out across the vastness of the lake. "This place is huge!" She howled across the water.

Spyder Laughed, sending echos rolling across the lakes surface.
" Yeah it's incredible, nice place to come to be alone." He said looking at her kindly

"Yeah, it is," Shimmer said. She stepped up to Spyder, suddenly seeming a little bit nervous. "Hey...can I ask you a question? Just between the two of us..."

(Sorry I had to leave earlier, I was going to my Grandma's house!)
