Hey all, I just noticed this on poor Kami's foot. He does like to jump out of people's hands and I'm worried he injured himself?
It's puffy and feels like a blister. It is very hot. Could it be bumblefoot?
I'll call the very tomorrow-should I do anything tonight?

I don't think that's technically bumble foot, but does look infected or abscessed. Did you get it looked at?

The vet does birds on Tuesdays, so we haven't seen anyone yet. One of the techs told us we could wrap it and to limit mobility if we were worried.

That first day, Kami seemed to be favoring it some of the time. But now it doesn't appear to be bothering him and the "bubble" is smaller. There's no heat or visible wound, either. *perplexed*

My gander must have stepped on a bee at one time his foot looked like that. I started soaking in warm Epsom salt water and looked for the stinger never found it but after about 3 days foot was good and he wasn't limping.

Today the swelling is almost gone. The vet said to keep an eye on it but only bring him in if it persists or swells back up since it seems to be healing on it's own.

For anyone else who has this problem:
It suddenly spread again, so we took a trip to the vet. She said it was a granuloma, probably caused by a tiny puncture wound. (Basically an abscess caused by infection) It's not normally a good idea to lance them, they are usually treated with antibiotics. However, since he's still young, she's worried about what that would do to his system. I'm on monitor duty. Leave it alone (especially since it's not bugging him) and it should go down on its own. Contact the vet again if it grows further.
