I have six 5-week-old chicks. I believe they are Tetra Tints. Today when I went to let them out to forage I noticed that five of them had bloody and blistery looking ear lobes. It literally looked like a blister filled with blood. All but one of the chicks had this. I removed the one who did not, as I am thinking that he/she is the one who did this to the other chicks.
Any advice or is this something more than an injury caused by an aggressive chick? We did have a thunderstorm today. Could this have triggered an anxious chick to do this? I put some blu-kote (sp?) on all the blisters by spraying some on my finger and then applying it to the area since it's so close to their eyes. All advice is appreciated!
