Got this egg yesterday. Blood and what appears to be some sort of intestine or lining or membrane or something on it? Should I be concerned? There was also a broken egg in the box but I don't think it's related, I just haven't collected in a couple days. Also had 2 rubbery eggs, different days, a couple weeks ago but I'm pretty sure that was just from not enough calcium and I have provided more bowls as they dump their oyster shells out daily lol

Thanks a lot! That makes me feel better aha I'll watch and see if it happens again :)

Also, even though I probably could have washed it, I was so grossed out by blood and chicken insides being on the egg I gave it to the dog LOL

Glad to help! careful about giving eggs to the dog. You probably know what you are doing but eggshells can be harmful to dogs. Sorry if I seem bossy or something. I just really care about the well being of animals and I'm sure you do too. I would just rather you be safe then sorry..;) Anyways, let me know about any other odd eggs you find! :D

He doesn't eat the egg shell anyway :p well, he used to but lately he's been picky lol he also makes us break them for him first :lau

So yeah, he just eats the insides, don't worry. :)

Although he's also huge (130 pounds) being half black Lab and half Great Pyrenees so if he did eat it, I don't think he'd choke or anything if that is the concern.

Also he sometimes makes me cook them lol

And it's okay!

And lol i definitely will! :)

Thats funny! No I think the concern is that the eggshells have chemicals or soemthing harmful in them. Glad to know that you take precautions with it though!

Right!? He could easily crack it at his size but noooo. Maybe he doesn't realize what's in there? Although he gets excited whenever I come out of the run with them or he sees one so he definitely knows what an egg is so idk lol

And ohhh okay well that makes sense but I only feed him eggs from our chickens and we don't even really buy store eggs anymore so there are no chemicals on them :)

Oh and I also don't usually wash them. If I did though, I never even thought about him not being able to eat the shells after! Good point.

Althougg he doesn't eat them anyway so no worries haha

Where did you get that info?
Our dogs eat a lot of eggs. I just talked to our vet the other week. I was told that I should limit the eggs to a bit less but the shells are good for them. Its calcium and and has a lot of benefits for them.

Well I had concerns when I found my dog eating compost in the garden that had eggshells in it. I called the vet and she said that the eggshells could result in vomiting. Maybe not true? Idk.
