Hello, my mom and I need some help.

A couple days ago we noticed an egg in our girl's coop, which is perfectly normal because that's what chicken's do after all! However, when my mom went to collect it, she noticed that it was bloody.

At first we thought you know it could be normal and we looked through all of out chicken books and couldn't find anything, so we really just hoped it wouldn't happen again.

Yesterday we got another egg and we realized that it too was bloody, so we were very concerned. We think we know which one of our girls it is. Is there anything we can do to stop this or does anyone know what causes bloody eggs? Please help.

Often new layers can get bloody eggs, and some birds may always strain a bit and so a small vessel can break or a tear can happen resulting in a bloody egg. Usually it is nothing to worry about and goes away.

Others may have different experiences though.
