Bloody poop AFTER CORID

Since there's a reoccurrence of Coccidiosis a second treatment is needed immediately.

It can't be overdone easily. I was concerned about overdosing chicks on corid first time using it, until someone told me it's nearly impossible to overdose chicks on it.

Okay. That definitely seems like what I need to do

Just started medicated feed yesterday. It’s an 18% chick starter/grower. Until they they were in a non-medicated start/grow feed. I’m not home right now but I can when I get back in a couple hours

Should I start with a stronger dose of CORID for several day or go to this. I’m thinking my original dosage wasn’t strong enough.

Okay. Sulfa meds ordered and CORID started back this AM at 1.5 tsp/gal. There were a couple that were concerning me so I went ahead and dropper fed them some CORID. Everyone seems to still being doing good and active and chirping away. I will definitely keeping watching g them closely throughout the day. If anyone has anything to add please do. Thanks for all of the help.

Okay. I just received the sulfa. I have been giving them the CORID in the drinking water for 6 days. The bloody poop seems to be cleared up. I have t seen any. Everyone is acting fine except one little chick who keeps her eyes closed a lot. She still eats and drinks and plays, but seems to hang by herself a little more sometimes too. Should I just keep with the CORID, switch to sulfa, both for her, or explore different things. I think you responded dee to a separate post I made about her eyes.

That med is a three-in-one med. It will treat the coccidia, the inflammation that caused the bloody stools and bacteria that attacks when the intestines get inflamed. So, there's no need for the Corid, too. Save the Corid to follow up with a week after you give the last dose of the sulfa.

The chick with the closed eyes may be suffering from coccidiosis the worst. Without the sulfa to treat the cause of the early blood in the stools and the bacteria that is probably still making it sick, it could die. Corid alone does not treat these things. It only blocks thiamine that coccidia feed on.

so stop CORID and treat the entire flock or just my eyes closed girl? Also at what dosage and how do I administer it.

One teaspoon per one gallon of water for five days. The directions are right on the package. Treat the entire flock because others may be getting infected with bacteria as we speak.
