Sweet Pea, the Cream Legbar hatched here.

Yokel, first ever chick to hatch. Olive Egger

This is the little White Orpington we found "dead" several days ago.

Sluf and a couple of his roommates, out in the outdoor brooder!
Nice I especially

the little nn.

Ok, as soon as I read Sweet Pea and Yokel that song played in my head! And now I am officially stealing those names for my chicks because if I have to have that song playing in my head, I might as well have chicks named that!

SO here is Yokel and Sweet Pea:

Love it love it love it!!! The song was a hit and @LocalYokel is becoming a legend! Cute babies!!

Ok, so even though I'm a bit younger, my sibs were all way older than me, 10, 14 and 16 years. So I grew up with an appreciation for music and tv from the previous generation. (Plus my parents were oldish when they had me, so I had a lot of "old" stuff I'm familiar with.) But this reference escapes me.

He's out. Don't think the egg, clearly marked Australorp, is an Australorp. Looks more like a Naked Neck to me.

Oops that mot have been a Wyandotte over my naked neck. They look so similar it's not even funny. I also find out that the supposed to be australorp a are actually black orpingtons. Go figure. I was told by many people that are in the show business that they are austrolorps, but the judge at the show said that they are just really nice orpingtons. I am happy one hatched for you Atleast!

What a cutie!! I love NN when they are babies.....not so much when they are adults though. LOL I have a brooder FULL of them because I was talked into hatching a bunch of Fun and Funky eggs. lol

I wondered..... and I'm sorry that I wasn't able to do better with the eggs you sent. Sluf was it, but as you said, at least there was one!

Oh, Alex, I can relate....around here the jury is out on "cuteness"!

Katie and her mom think he's adorable. Evan thinks he looks like he wasn't done yet. Ken wrinkles his nose. Me? One minute I'm thinking, "Yuck" and the next minute he has me grinning. So at least there's nothing "ho-hum" about him.

I know what you mean. Although....there are a few FRIZZLE NN in my brooder that are quite adorable. Even if they are kinda creepy. LOL

I think they fall in the "so ugly they are cute" category..

My std poodle presently resembles a Naked Neck Chicken, just trimmed his face, ears, and neck to the shoulders...topknot and rest of body still winter length.

Eggtopsy Tip:
I used a snack sized ziplock...only open enough to stick a dental tool in there to break shell off....guards against stinkers blowing everywhere and catches any oozing.

I am not to Squeemish with eggtopsy stuff. Interesting to to see stages of development. I have taken a few very good photos of embryos. But then again I'm a nurse so only thing that grosses me out is teeth. Never could pull any of the kids teeth. Lol
