Little Sluf is going outside to live this evening. Had 2 Banties brought in and they stayed with him to keep him company since none of the remaining eggs hatched. My only concern is the others pecking at the nice, pink neck. Presents a pretty interesting target for them. Well, we'll find out. He hatched out on Friday, so he's had a weekend luxurious accommodations in the house for 2 days now. Time to put on his big-boy britches.

Awww good luck to Little Sluf. Disappointing that none of the others hatched, but chit happens.... Better luck with those silkie eggs!! :fl

So far I have never had a problem with my others picking at my nn's. Now I did have a nn roo that would stick his neck out and let my other roo pluck the feathers from his bow tie....lol

Oh, yeah. I actually did an eggtopsy <gulp> on the one that was last to show movement. He was totally encased in the membrane, no internal pip at all, and he was wrapped up in there so tightly that there was no way he could have worked his way out. No sign of life in him at all. The other eggs were sloshy and goopy - those I didn't open. Took all my nerve to do the one I did, and the old gag reflex was on high.

I think my humidity was too low. (Do I sound like I know what I'm talking about?)
