I'm pleased with 6 month old Elvis here. Anyone think he'd be good for breeding? I don't know much about what to look for. I finally feel like he's filled out some and got some good pictures.

He's pretty! I'm still learning what to look for, too, but I think he's gorgeous.

I don't get my first bantam Ameraucana until springtime, and I'm dying in the wait. So, mostly I'm just piping in to say thank you for sharing pics for those of us who have to live only through pictures. Haha! He's super pretty and makes me even more excited to get my own little hen. I know this is a roo, but still. Very handsome.

Anyone have a picture they can share of a adult bantam next to an adult LF Ameraucana? :)

Here is my pure blue splash standard Ameraucana in the same coop. He is only 8months old and is not muffed or bearded. He came from Mypetchicken.com. You can see the middle ridge of that tin behind them and compare the two.

Has anyone seen a bantam Ameraucana in this color?

All Ameraucanas must have muffs and beards, and they only come in blue, black, splash, wheaten, blue wheaten, and white. That's it.

I thought the same thing. I contacted mypetchicken.com and they informed me that the Ameraucanas they have are certified pure breed and that on occasion it is normal to get one without muffs and beard. They also said some people choose not to breed them if they are clean faced but that it isn't genetic and all offspring will still be purebred and have muffs and beard. Actually they were all supposed to be hens so I got a refund on this one. He is blue splash but it was very early when I took this pic so its hard to tell his color. He actually looks like their picture in color just without the muffs and beard. He does have fuzz where they should be but still.

The splash could be purebred, it's the one with the brown leakage I'm talking about.
