Blue Ameraucana thread!

No, but close! I got them from the same breeder as Papachaz. I think I ended up with a lot of extra roos! Lol. How are yours coming?

The young ones I got from him are about 6 weeks now. Lol, all but one moved to grow out section. My little splash just cried so I left her in the baby room.
I also got Carcar80s group, 4 black hens with blue ROO, along with the 13 young ones.
They are about 3 weeks now and doing great.

Today the blacks and blues meet the flock. All will go into the new pen today for the first time.
Eventually the pen will be divided and the AMs will have their own section.

Hi there!

I'm looking into raising some Blues, but am having trouble finding a breeder in the classifieds; many threads are now closed or 2+ yrs old. Does anyone know of a breeder currently selling hatching eggs (or will be come spring)?

Thanks much!

I sent in my payment for the Ameraucana Breeders Club so I can be listed on their list of breeders.
But until I get NPIP I can't send out of state from what I understand.

I have a black and blue flock, it will be fall before I can separate them once my little ones grow and I can sex them.

But the ABC has breeders in quite a few states.

Heres my blue roo.

I need advice! These are the two blue cockerels I narrowed it down to. 1st one is Mr. Blue, big comb, starting to fold a bit, his saddle doesn't seem to be filling out like I want, and he is fairly small. The Second one is Mr. Nameless, his saddle and hackles are filling out nicely, his comb is just starting to develop but I'm putting that on growing up with 9 other cockerels, he has a better size to him then mr blue, but has matured slowly, which may be due to the amount of cockerels though. Dunno. What do you guys think? I need to be getting rid of some of these guys! Already picked out my black, and I'm not keeping either of my lavs. I'm still learning as much as I can abou the breed, so any critics and advice is appreciated!

:hit So I am super sad today!!! My beloved girl Kunigunde, is actually Manfred. I have 6 "girls" that are 6 month old and my friendliest one was Kunigunde!! She (now he) would eat from my hand and be the 1st to greet me each day!!! Well about a month ago, she started developing hackles and her comb was going REALLY red and the tail was starting to roo out, but since she didn't crow, I was determined that denial was my best way of coping :D. I live in a village and we arent allowed Roos unless we have 6 acres. I only have 2. And so not to upset my next door neighbours who don't like Roos, we are giving him to the house a few doors down who have 6 acres. Manfred is the sweetest roo!!! He eats out of my hand and is the biggest scardy-cat as well hahaha  This morning was the morning he did his first crow. It was so cute and pretty quiet as well, it makes it even more painful to do this. I'm just so glad he is going to a home 3 doors down so I can still hear him crow ;). I will take some photos of him before he goes.

I'm really feeling down :(
