Blue Andalusian thread!

Hello all! I have a beautiful blue Andalusian rooster that I am fostering for the time being, his owner could no longer keep him she had to many roosters. From what I understand he cost her a pretty penny, and she used him as a show bird and breeder. I just want him to find a good home, because I can not keep him in the long run. Please PM, or comment, if interested.

I don't know where she got him, and I will if I can later today. It's raining and he is out in a run and doesn't mind the rain to much

No I've never had this breed before, I'm just fostering him and his son. The last owner could no longer keep them. I have his son as well that's also looking for a home, his son is only a few months old

Not really a good rooster in my opinion. White in the face, no lacing... But if you don´t have a better rooster then you should definitely use him for breeding.

I have been looking online reading everything I can find which is not much on the Blue Andalusian. I bought some hatching eggs and they are hatching today! 2 out so far and 9 to go! But I would love to find some more info about raising and breeding them! I fell in love with them and want a flock! I have a good start! But I want to make sure I don't mess them up by breeding them incorrectly! Can someone suggest any books for me to read or something. And maybe if someone has time can help or give me some advice now and then like a mentor? I would really appreciate any help anyone can offer!

yeah babies! Do you have a copy of the SOP, that would be a good place to start. Posting pictures here would probably get you some help as well. My DD has been working on them for 4 years now as her 4-H project. We use all 3 colors- black, blue and splash. Are your eggs from all 1 pen- part-sibs or full sibs? I agree there isn't much information out there, we have been going forward by trial and error and the feedback she gets from the judges at the county fair. Good Luck!
