Blue Andalusian thread!

Hi! I hatched Andalusians from Okiehen late last year --- they are just delightful!
I sent a black pair to my pal Deb and kept the blues for me me me.

He/she was Hatched 2/5/10 I have 2 more as well, but they are black. Doesn't look like I have any splash

Here is a picture of my DD Andalusian splash rooster and one of the blue pullets, they are about 10 weeks old, she had a very nice looking blue rooster but it went down on its hocks and then the joint stiffened up and it died a day later

She has another blue, black and splash pullets. The splash pullet is small compared to the others and isn't doing to well either but we have her separated and on medicated water and it seems to be helping.

Does anyone know where we might be able tp purchase a blue rooster in the same age range?

How old are your 2 roosters? The ones my DD has are about 10 weeks old.

Just finished hatching out 8 babies from the eggs we got from Okiehen, they will be a week old on Sat. Very fun to watch as they move about the brooder. We'll try and post a few pictures later.

I have been reading all about the Blue Andalusians. Does anyone have a picture of a black hen and a splash hen? Do the splash hens have the white "ear" like the blues do?

As far as I know they should have white ear lobes since they are white egg layers.

Here are the 8 babies we just hatched out- they are 1 week old.



I did look at the older birds and they all have white ear lobes-the blue, black and splash.

I have a splash, a black and a blue pullet that I will try posting soon. My daughter named the splash "Newspaper". She says that is what she looks like. She is 8, and so that shall be her name. So much for the one I picked "Splish".

WOW!! BA's are REALLY pretty when they grow up! I didnt know they got lacing! I picked up 2 blue Andy's at our local feedstore just because I wanted to have some blue colored hens and that was all they had at the time. Now I feel soooo happy that I got them. I would love to see more pictures of everyones birds', and I will soon be out snapping a few of my own to post.

I'm sure mine wont be as beautiful as some on here, but if they even come close, I will count myself lucky and keep them forever!
