Blue Andalusian thread!

Who will have Blue Andalusian chicks for sell this spring? Looking for good line, if not too high.

I'm in Arkansas. We have 4-H but our leadership is not the best, they are getting the kids to raise sex link pullets to show which I don't think is a good ideal, they need to raise and show a true breed and show them to the standard and teach them about real breeds.

We purchased some hatching eggs from Okiehen last year-late spring and they are now the parents of the chicks we just hatched out. We have a very wonderful poultry leader team and they are excellent in helping the kids. My DD showed a Blue pullet last year at fair and took standard championship, we are waiting for her to start laying again so we can hatch eggs from her. Good luck with your 4-H project!

That is how I have been doing it, of course this is only my second season with the andalusians. I breed blue to blue only and as soon as they have enough feathers on them to tell the color, - usually about a week - I go ahead and cull the blacks and splashes. My goal this year is for about 75 actual blues out. I have around 20 blues out already, but I think almost all of them are cockerels. That's fine by me as long as I can get a few good ones out of them.
