Blue/Black Orps: Pic Hvy!!!!!!!!

Sometimes Gordie will put in a few days old up to a week old chicks in the lot which it is fine with me as long everyone gets along.

Since I had two Orpington batches going on, I had to cut their wing feathers to ID who belongs to who...Gordie and Bama Chickens LOL!

Number 4 appears to have yellow skin, but also looks black in the pic. The yellow skin would indicate 'rock'. Look at the feet (soles). White skin is orp, yellow is rock.

Hard to do if their feet turns black or slate...like my Blue Rock pullet did. I think the conformation of Orps and Rocks looks a bit different however most of us dont have the experience eye, they do look similar! Yep, youre right about the yellow tint in legs in Rocks....call me blind but I dont see it LOL!
