Blue blue eggs

Will one of the young people on the forum please tell me what "imho" means. The only thing I can figure out is a rap stars paid girlfriend. Being called basically a liar and having the Bible quoted in the same post really does tick me off. Notice I used no acronyms, I am old enough that I can usually say what I mean outright

In my honest/humble opinion IMHO

Hey I am young and I had no idea what it meant

Mine are pretty light blue. The hens are 2 years old and fom Bobbi Porto's stock so I imagine the eggs must have been really blue their first year. I have some chicks hatched out and waiting to see if they are pullets and how blue their eggs will be.

So as I understand it, the darker blue is at the first of a laying season but also the eggs get lighter as the years go on? So you want to keep raising pullets every year from your darkest blue eggs to keep your flock laying these beautiful eggs? Oh, and of course, keep a roo from the darkest blue eggs?

I know these sound like dumb questions but I have always raised mammals and I understand them. Poultry is a new road for me.

Yes, to all questions. I just went a gathered my eggs so I could ship ship a small late order. Some of the hens that were laying intense blue eggs in January just barely have a bluish tint, they are still blue though. Where are you in SC? There a bunch of Araucana breeders in upstate SC. I live in the South central part.

I live on the Greenville/Spartanburg county line between Greer and Landrum.
I did not realize there were any Araucana breeders around here. I had looked for some breeders so I could get a few chicks for DH to start his flock. We came across a website for someone in Pendleton but that is all we have seen so far.
We are building 2 more coops over the week of the 4th. We know we will get what we need eventually.
We are going down to Columbia to visit my mother and sister on July 5th.

I'm about 40 minutes from Cola down HWY 20 and off in the hinterlands. I've got a couple of hundred started chicks running around in the woods and am going to be culling quite heavily soon. Here is the info on the Secretary of the ACA. Join, I'll give you a quartet to get you started. Tell Fritz that Gary sent you.

Thanks! We would love to have a quartet! And yes, we will join.
And Mr. Ludwig is the one I saw with the website. I know my husband was excited about him living in Pendleton because that is where he was raised. We had thought to talk with him but haven't gotten that far as we only found the site a few days ago.
I will certainly tell him who sent us.
Thanks again and I will let you know as soon as we have joined.
