Blue/Brown Eggs, Easter/Christmas Eggs - Getting my craft on!!

I learned something yesterday and in a way it was pretty funny! Everywhere I read everyone always makes 2 holes in their eggs but when I blow them I always just make one so there is one less hole to hide when I put them in my bowl for decoration. Anyway I have never tried to dry them out in the microwave and I have learned that with one hole they are way more likely to expload from the steam pressure. I put 2 eggs in yesterday for 15 seconds and watched one go off like a bomb!

"I loop a ribbon and toothpick for some. It is really easy. You cut a length of toothpick about 1inch long. Make a slip knot loop around the toothpick. Put the toothpick in the hole, shake it a little and gently pull the ribbon and the toothpick won't come back out of the hole. Thread the bead cap and a drop of glue to secure it."

I've already started painting some of my eggs.....it's fun, but a little more time-consuming than I thought.

I guess using rub-ons would make things quicker...oh well. I have a sheet of rub-ons so we'll see how that works out....

I'll try to post pics soon!

I'm into art - I've always been drawing, and I took some drawing and painting classes in college. I have chickens...I'm getting more eggs than I know what to do with.....it's getting closer to the holidays...I need to keep up with my art skills.......SO.......might as well make egg art!

I just used some rub-ons tonight, and WOW. That was quick and easy.
