Blue/Brown Eggs, Easter/Christmas Eggs - Getting my craft on!!

MissPrissy, how did you heat dry them? I want to be able to do this correctly and not overheat them

Thanks!

15 seconds at a time in the microwave until they stop hissing. They will be hot to the touch so don't grab them and burn yourself.

I do 15 seconds 4 - 6 times depending on the egg size - more for goose eggs. When you rinse them out blow out the water and when you put them through the microwave you'll hear the steam hissing out of them. More than 15 seconds at a time and they may break or crack or the steam could make them explode even with a tiny blow hole.

They are beautiful, you have inspired me again. I blew some eggs last year and painted them and they look very childish. I am going to try this again. Thank you for the inspiritation!

Thank you MP because now I got up the courage and tried again. My dd's boyfriend showed me how when he found out what I was about to do. When I get mine all done I will post pics.

Miss Prissy,
I just found this thread and am going to go about collecting some green eggs from my girls, and dark eggs from friends. Your ornaments are so lovely! I will be making these for Christmas presents. What better gift from the odd- but- lovable chicken lady? My friends will love it!

Ps can you tell us where you got the filigree end-cap things? I found some online, but they are ugly. I really like yours--very delicate and beautiful. Thanks!

PPs I found some here, but they are not the same http://www.orientaltrading.com/craft-supplies-and-hobbies/sensational-beads/bead-caps-a1-386960-2-1.fltr
