I have been searching for rub ons since MP first started this thread. I had dreams of spending all year making ornaments for Christmas gifts this year!

I can't find anything! On line the rub ons are way to big and when I went to Michael's she said, oh they don't even make rub ons any more!!

If anyone finds a great source let me know. Heck buy extra and I will Pay Pal you! Christmas will be here before you know it! My eggs have been blown out and waiting.........

Update: I made some of these last night! It took a bit to acquire all of the supplies-most came from online sources. I made some with the rub-ons, and some with metallic Sharpie marker. I have to admit, I only blew a dozen of my own eggs. After cracking more than a few, I went to ebay and bought 8 DOZEN colored, blown eggs for like $25 including shipping. I have a lot more to go, but I'm starting to get into the groove. I highly recommend getting the metallic sharpies to cover any 'goofs', and to add detail. I promise to take pictures and share them later.

how do you get an ornament hanger into that tiny hole? Seems to me you could only put something thin & straight into the hole, but how do you fasten it so the egg doesn't fall off? ribbon too? Again, no idea how to keep the egg ON the ribbon...

am I missing something that is obvious to everyone else?

Here is a pic of the supplies I am using. Sorry for the odd angle. I am going to try the spray sealer instead of mod podge. I may be sorry when it gets all over my house, though!

And here are a few of the ornaments-in-progress. Still have to seal them, then put on the bead caps and find thread small enough to go through the opening of said bead cap. I would suggest getting a larger bore bead cap if you can, as they will be easier to work with.

I also have at least 2 dozen white, blown eggs, if anyone wants them. May have other colors when I know how many I will actually use. The person I bought them from did a very good and neat job. I would ask that you pay roughly $12 per box, which should cover my shipping and a little extra to cover my original purchase.

*Edited to add more pics*

Here is the first batch, mostly finished. I sprayed some very lightly with gold metallic paint, just to give a soft sheen, but let most of the original color show through. You can see it on the dark brown eggs, and the center most green egg, almost dead center in the carton.

That's only the first batch. Can you tell I've gone a little crazy with this project
