Blue/Brown Eggs, Easter/Christmas Eggs - Getting my craft on!!

FINALLY got mine done. The first set I tried, I had them blown, decorated and had applied a layer of glossy mod podge and then I ran into the table and they all roll off the table and smashed on the floor.

The rub-ons are the trick! I tried using mod podge on a couple the first time with scraps of scrapbooking paper and wrapping paper, but that was hard and they didn't look nearly as nice.

So, 2nd attempt to match our tree decorated in blue, white, and silver:

Is the feathered one painted or glued? All beautiful.

Its glued and then sprayed. I have been putting feathers on eggs for years. I like to put them on usually so they look like frizzles. LOL

Beautiful. What bird gave you those awesome feathers? ALSO I would love to see a "frizzled" looking egg. Pics please!!!

I have a question - how do you usually put the mod podge on? I used a paintbrush, but it left a paintbrush sort of texture. I didn't notice that on any of the pics here...is there a trick to applying it?

My apologies if this has been answered earlier...Christmas is coming and I don't have time to read all the pages!

For the mod podge, I use a foam brush. It makes less streaks and they are cheap. You can also use spray gloss, but I had the glossy mod podge already.

Also, I used 2 light coats. If you apply a thick coat, the brush marks are more visible.

Oh, good thinking - foam brush! Thanks Green!! I shall grab a couple when I run to town.

Wish we had a Hobby Lobby around here!
