We are going to be 103 - 106 today! So I'd say we are still experiencing summer.

I've had 2.5 dozen goose eggs sitting on the shelf for just this time of year! Now if I can finish with my cookbook production, I can get to painting!!!!! Can't wait to see everyone's pictures. I have some eggs left from last year I didn't get to either! Would be nice to make a few bucks for sure.

Speaking of goose eggs...how do you clean yours? I have some very interesting colored duck eggs, but they still look nasty after hand washing them. One girl lays an egg the color of sea foam, and I'd like to decorate them, but not until they look "presentable".

Admittedly some are yellow-ish due to the copious amounts of red clay the geese decided to bury them under.

I just washed & washed using a toothbrush and some natural toothpaste!
I figure it worked great on all my other "white" projects with stains, like my dry erase board & resin chairs, and pretty good on the eggs too!

I've had no luck finding rub ons at any of the stores up here, just not close enough to Christmas. I'll have to buy online. Now that it's getting darker earlier I have more time in the evenings to do this type of project.

And Muggs... your chickens are beautiful, I've been meaning to send you an update... I'll try and take some pictures now. Those naked necks... I love them. One of them looks BLR.

I can't wait for them to start laying.

And of course, I have been dying to know what the little buggars look like!!! I am routing for your girls to lay some colored eggs WAY before Christmas!!!

I went out but it was too dark for (good) pictures. I totally apologize for being a bad hatcher and not sending you updates. I haven't been on BYC much, though.

All 3 of the boobie-NN are female and look completely different: one is BLUE, one is BLR-like and one is typical EE colored with the black laced gold feathering.

This is the only one that I could get a decent picture of with the low light, the one that's kindof BLR... she looks much more BLR in real life than in this picture. And please ignore the poo splatters on the wall.

She is LOVELY!!! I showed my kids, they can't believe that this pullet is the offspring of their 2 chickens! Thanks for the pic Jody!
