But they call pale blue what you see on most splash chickens.
But for me, the self blue is practically the same blue color that you see on splash birds but without the splash effect.
Is this correct?

Sometimes splash is spotless. It's very difficult to tell from self blue.
Normally self blue is darker by the way.
And to confuse you more, I can show you what happens when you breed lavender with blue, but I don't think I should. Just don't.

I thought she was light lavender.
Put with a black she gave me some true blues.
Put with a porcelain she gave me a lavender rooster, with the feather shredding and everything.

It's definitely a lavender splash.
The blues died but there's the lavender son.
