Here's the colors of copper I like some are a bit lighter than the male at the end, that I believe is a nice middle of the road color to have and what I try to breed for. The lighter color copper birds are ones that have done well to exhibit the color early as well as to produce a nice range of color with fewer mahogany or over melanized birds that I have found so far.

some do not prefer the blended, hackle, but for me, as long as they are not expressing any other Wheaten influences, I do not have a problem test mating with them.

the color I am trying to breed to more consistently, yes, his tail carriage is too high for my liking, but when mated correctly, produces nice birds

Here's some mahogany colors for reference

Mahogany can go even darker than this, but do admit that I love this tone of color. Just have to be careful when moving forward with matings to select birds that are not overmelanized or too dark of copper, before long, you end up with birds not showing enough copper.
