Well, at the risk of life and limb I got Mama and baby separated and snapped some photos of the wing of this chick. Sorry for the quality, but this is the best that I could do with a phone and one hand:I know this is a dumb question, but has anybody had a blue chick with barring from a splash/black mating? I have blue chicks hatched by a BO broody, and the lightest one at hatch appears to have barring on the wings. My broody is very protective, so catching it to extend the wings or get photos isn't really an option without risk of bodily harm. My eyes may be deceiving me, but I just thought I would ask.
Thanks, I just thought it look odd. It was destined to be a capon anywaysThat is not true barring. It should molt out. If not cull it.
