Beautiful! What does lavender split mean?

Lavender split is a bird who carries one copy of the gene. Lavender is recessive, so it won't show unless there's 2 copies.

I also have a Blue Cream or Porcelain Silkie although he's a bit darker than yours. I need to find him some girlfriends this spring too.

He is beautiful and looks to be a blue cream. You can breed him to lavender. All the chicks will be lavender, but will carry the blue cream coloring. If you find some true blue cream girls for him, you will likely get some blue cream chicks. Best not to bring actual blue into the mix, as blue is different genetically.
If you do, all chicks will be blue or black.

I’m not 100% certain but I believe you’ll get 50% lavender and 50% black. Not sure how many of the lavender would actually be blue cream.
The blacks should be split to lavender. Please post photos of the chicks, if you do make such a cross.

Ok thanks. I may cross them in future but would be at least a year so we will see. . If I do I’ll definitely post.
