Glad I stumbled upon this thread, because once again I didn't get your tag alert @Brahma Chicken5000!

Yes, Araucanas can lay green eggs, but it is not preferred. Below is a chart from the breeders association with x being the most desirable color and i being the least desirable.

Yep, have one that is bluer.
Think it depends on the line and if breeder concentrated on culling for shell color over other aspects.
Have had EE's lay way bluer than these CCL.
I assume it depends on how they process nutrients needed to color the shell material,
which is a whole other string of genes than produces the brown coating.

Speaking of blue eggs...

I just got my FIRST EVER Araucana egg!!! Who would have thought it would come on this record setting coldest day! Air temp is -14, wind chill -40. This was laid by "Mama", who was GIVEN to me by breeder Nancy Utterback when I bought the hen's chicks. I saw her in the nest box this morning but thought she was just hunkered down in the straw to keep warm. Checked on them a little while ago and low and behold this was in the nest box:

It's closest to a vi (top row last egg of color chart).

This is "Mama". Let's give that old broad a hand! :
