My cockerels at 6 months are mature enough to fertilize eggs, lol. Pullets can take up to 9 months to start laying.

i guess i will have thanksgiving chicks then. i just took 8 eggs to the philippines and hatched 6. i have my chicken toes crossed for lots of pullets

at what age do BLRW typically sexually mature?

One of my pullets started laying at 6 months, the other at 8. However once they start laying mine haven't stopped!

HI, I am in S. Oregon and have fallen in love with looking at the pics of the BRLW. I would like to try my hand at breeding with this particular breed. Can anyone direct me to a reputable breeder nearby that might have chicks? I am not set up with incubator and don't have any broody hens to try to hatch eggs. I will be reading through this thread more~
