Waiting for pics
seems like the blue orpingtons is hard to find.
anyone have some eggs or chicks for sell?
I have a splash 100% English roo over mostly blues, and a couple blacks. All the eggs will hatch out blue and splash. I have some people in line for eggs before you, but if you want, I can let you know when I could send some. Or I could put an auction here on BYC and let you know when they are posted.
ETA: We are reserving hatching eggs for 2012.
Our Blue Orpington Bantams - Dick Horstman line
Our Black Orpington Bantams we are using with our Blues this year.
Our Large Fowl Blue Orpingtons
Crossing them this year with our Cecil Moore line Blacks
The Blue gene is different than the Self Blue (aka Lavender). Here is our Self Blue Orpington male.
We have eggs available now. Chicks available soon. Pictures at "horstmanspoultry.com"
Quote:Dick, do you have Blue Orp large fowl or just the bantams?
We also have a lone Barred Plymouth Rock bantam chick in our brooder tote. He was lonely at Ethan's. Only chick that hatched. So he will hang out with Buff chicks until he gets feathered out, or some more chicks at at Ethan's house this next week. Julie tried using a mirror. He got mean, attacked the mirror and WON! Was not as successful with a Buff two weeks older then him. they are friends now.
For something different I am working with a Blue Cuckoo cockerel. He is from a totally different line then my regular Blues.
I expect Gomer to be breed to some nice Cuckoo pullets I have then switch him onto a couple of Blue hens I have
My Blues mostly derive from a Blue cock I got from Bammachicken
I only have the large fowl now. Tim Bowles has all the Blue Orp bantams.
I tried to send you a private message but your box is full. Send me your email.
