We already have 5 older chicks and the hubby agreed to 2 more. My daughter asked me to pick her up 2 blue rock cause they were clearanced. So now I have to decide which two to give her.Why just two? I have ten coming.

I asked several workers to confirm mine were pullets. I have one very light one with yellow on head, so curious what it will look like later.Well I went back... they were in a “straight run” bin... the lady and I spent forever picking through the chicks looking for 4 I wanted to take a chance on... if they aren’t what I think I may end up eating them...
They looked them up.. they were from freedom hatchery...
but being “str run” I would’ve expected more “male” (yellow dot on head”...
So I got one with a distinct yellow dot... two darker ones that I feel confident are not actual barred rock ... the bin was labeled “Plymouth rock” but they don’t fit anything for sure... and my last one was a very light one because I figured well what the heck... try this color and see what I end up with
Oh no! LOL I know they claim the chicks are 90-95% supposed to be pullets. I picked up two light and two dark. The light one is a male. The Plymouth blue rock was created to be a sex linked chick. The males are lighter in color yellow/white.
I was told mine were sent as pullets.View attachment 1735177 View attachment 1735178 The bin at mine was straight run... so I probably have 2 of each as well... lol
But I was on the freedom ranger website and the woman and I were comparing their picture to try to pick... the light one didn’t make sense to either of us lol
They definitely look blue rock, adorable. My TSC had no idea if they were blue Plymouth rocks or not... so I have my doubts... but being from freedom ranger and looking at them I felt certain enough to take a chance!
