I have a baby barred rock, doesn't look like they are but I could be wrong.

I thought they look more silvery than black... soooo didn’t think they were barred rocks but....
if they hadn’t come from freedom ranger I wouldn’t have even bothered trying but I figured I would try

My two barred rocks are 4 weeks now so I can’t remember what they looked like then

Spot usually on the top of head and fluffy white butt, lol.

Took a picture of my lightest blue rock today... one of the darker ones ( I think a pullet for sure is behind it in the first photo) but I’m
Not sure if the light blue is a pullet or not.. I got one with a yellow spot on its head that i am fairly certain will be a cockerel

I picked up 4 from FFAH, was told they were pullets. One of the light ones has a very distinct yellow head, someone else commented it was a Cockerel. So you are saying it probably is too.

According to the hatchery websites for blue rocks... yes. The description shows that they’re easily sexed. (Males have yellow spots)

So I was in TSC (where I got my blue rocks last week) getting oil for my push mower... and wouldn’t you know she was just marking the darn blue rocks down to 50 cents a piece cuz their last batch of chicks are coming in.
So I brought 6 of them home (picked one cockerel I think)
I really need to get working on my coop now. I ordered hardware cloth- it’ll be here tomorrow. Going to get wood chips Saturday for the run “floor”.
Need to build the roosts and separate the 3 areas (silkie area, the blue rock flock and normal egg layers, and my colored egg layers). Trying to figure out how best to frame up the gates to go to the ceiling. Each gate only goes 4 ft now... might buy a roll of 1/2 inch chicken fence and frame with 2x4...
