These Buffs make me smile ever time I see pics of them. How can one not smile at the first glimpse of the first picture LOL

Thanks for the up date on the Buffs I think you getting them is the best thing we did in three years on this tread. Now we can see how they will develop and maybe in three years five or more people will have some and can help Preserve this old line of Rocks.

Jeff and Bob...both good 'take away' posts!

I sat and watched my 11 Buff Rocks at almost 7 weeks yesterday...caught up my keepers...tagged them...had a gal who lives about 90 minutes from come get some to grow out and breed from next year.

Here's the Buffs at 7 weeks...kept my 1 and 2 male picks along with 3 nice pullet chicks.

Here they are...
And I was the lucky duck to pick those birds up yesterday! Thanks Cindy!

Now what I need is a copy of the standard for them so I can start studying up ;-)

Quote: Congratulations on getting the other half. I will try to send you something by personnel message to guide you on your journey. Just feed them good and protect them from the enemy which are dogs and varmints. Let them grow up and be full bloom and we can help you put together a killer mating this coming breeding system. Just remember you are not only breeding these young birds for next year but their parents, grand parents ect that is tied up in this germ Plasma. You bot have a great gene pool to work with like she has in the Rhode Island Reds she owns.

Its going to be a exciting project and hopefully, we can help others maybe say four have this line and then you will have a network of six to share birds with.

Even if only three make it to the five year mark this will be a big boost to this color pattern and the sharing of rare Rocks to others in the Country. Thanks for being part of this program. I will work on some stuff for you. Keep your eyes open on Ebay for a used black and shite standard about a 1060s or so book. Those have the black and white pictures in them and the words are still the same much as today I have some articles on my web site on how to get started with Plymouth Rocks just take out the words for bared and or whites and put in buffs and it will work the same way.. Just Google my name and you will find the site. Its easy as falling off a log when you got good buffs to work with. Not a easy color pattern but a rewarding one. At least you have a lady on here who is the Queen of Buff Orps to help you and a judge like Ralph to guide you on type ect. Lucky people almost three years old this tread. Need to have a big party on the aniversity day. Just think of all the people we have helped and still helping.

Isn't that right LURKERS. You are still readying and one day you are going to make a switch. I just know it.

Hope you get a guy to look like this bird I had about 5 years ago. He was a young ckl.

he turned out ok and was a mean bird or I should say a gladiator. He killed my best white rock I ever raised as he wanted to be the king of the hill. Had the best vigor I ever saw in a Rock.
