Tell me, where there Delawares there? I really wanted to look for some Jersey Giants and Brahmas. Darn it anyway!

Didn't see any Dels, but saw other heritage breeds.

I also told them in the Directors meeting that we need to put the heritage birds on the fast track. The APA is talking about certifying heritage flocks. Not as show birds, but as true to type, viable heritage chickens bred to the APA Standards. Birds that will perform the way they were meant to perform. They could still be shown, but many people are only interested in their performance.

The New APA SOP is printed, but will not be available for shipping until mid Jan. I have my copy.......

We really gotta get them out there.... that's just crazy!

I am very interested in what the APA will come up with on the heritage birds. Very interesting. Did they form a committee for this?

The new APA SOP book .... please tell me they put dots ....... in the index, so I can find the right page.

I want an autographed copy. Do they cost more?

They have had a committee for Heritage chickens, but they are not moving fast enough for my tastes. IMO they are behind the curve and I told them that. I am not on that committee, but I have support from some of the members on it to move faster.

No dots for us old folks hahaha...use a ruler

Were there any silver penciled plymouth rocks?

Can you elaborate on this?

Curious, how many Wyandotte breeders or Wyandotte stock out there would any of you classify as heritage? Wyandottes are very common and popular, and there's some good breeders out there, but how much of it is actually heritage? (been bred naturally and properly for such and such time)

I'd love to think of getting heritage bred Wyandottes instead of just simply show Wyandottes this spring.

I'm clawing to get the new APA book. . . But I'm guessing I won't have a chance until January, right?

Walt,

I forgot, where do you live and how do we get to your place. And when will you be gone?

I suggested to Pat Horstman that we knock you in the head and swipe one of those five SOP you brought to the national. Pat said you were hiding them from her as well. Then you FINALLY showed up with them. Was fun looking at the copy. Just not enough time to look at it all. I did order one for a Feb delivery date.

In the Heritage Poultry Conservancy meeting P. Allen Smith said that Silver Pencilled Plymouth Rocks are almost exstinct. He was begging for folks to raise and show them.

I'm breeding the silver penciled plymouth rocks with Wynette as my mentor (I'm so lucky)!

I just got my first two hens (from happy chooks-Wynettes line) and am hoping to get a roo or two (from Lotsapaint Wynettes line too). AND lots of hatching eggs from Wynette as soon as her girls get busy!
