There should not be any problem copying this booklet. It needs to be available again.

Walt

What was the name of the book?
I was just curious, I don't think I seen the name posted..

Chris

"Starting where you are with what you have"....or something close to that. The name was mentioned earlier in the thread, but it would be hard to find now.

Paso is always busy. Whoever does their PR does a great job. The motels are always full. My tomatoes didn't do anything this year up here in Santa Rosa. The grapes took a beating too. See you at the show. Anyone at the check in desk should be able to point me out.

I am just getting started with heritage birds and learning what to look for, who to breed to etc...so all you experts out there, help me out if you can

Have a great day!

Scott

That is a great start Scott. The first K and the third pullet look like great birds. They all look good! Post pics when they finish out.

I don't think showing is for everyone, but I think everyone should go to at least on big show to see their favorite breed. I am about ready to leave for the weekend, but here are the shows in the West. If you can make one show try for the Pacific Pouitry Breeders show at the end of Jan 2011. It is in Stockton CA and usually has about 2500 of the West's best birds.

It's "Start Where You Are With What You Have" by Ralph Sturgeon. Last I knew it was out of print but someone recently told me it had been reprinted.

Scott,
If I'm not mistaken that's the same cockerel I picked. You didn't send me any pullets to look at. picture of pullets that is.

You are ABSOLUTELY correct!!! I am going with advise of the experts...I dang sure couldn't take credit for picking him out

I didnt send pullet pix as I was trying not to "wear out my welcome" with too many pix. If you have time, I'll take pix of each one and send to you...I would certainly love your advise. Just didn't want to be a burden either

THANKS
