Got
a mesage asking the history of Rose Comb Rhode Island Reds. Here it is and also I agree about getting half Rose Combs and Half Buckeyes from Mr. Urch. Good idea.

You are welcome on the search of New Hampshires.

They are so rare about as rare as Rose Comb Large Fowl.

Who is getting New Hampshires or Rhode Island Reds this year.

Got to hook up some lights in the barn for the breeders. Super bowl sunday is the day I turn on the lights and give the egg laying pellets this spring for my breeders. Sping is around the corner for me.

For those who want to know what I have in the breeding pens this year they are: Rhode Island Reds, White Plymouth Rocks, Buff Brahmas, Dark Cornish, White Leghrons and Gray Call ducks.

Got up to 71 the other day and 65 degrees yesterday. bob

I'll be getting New Hampshires this year, possibly from 2 different sources if financials work out

No RIR's, though I've kept the three cockerels back to see how they mature, as far as type goes. They've gotten so big in the last month... and they're fillin out nicely

Oops, wrong Mike Miller!!! I went ahead and asked the breeder for the contact info, and some more information...

I'm getting both later this year sometime. I'm on the list with Kathyinmo on those great New Hampshires and have two strains of Rhode Island Reds coming, Some of Mr. Bennet's strain (Pine Grove) and some from your old Mohawk line.
I'm excited to get started.

Yes, guess I should have mentioned Chantecler also. I do have some Buff Chantecler, and I was thinking of breeding them to help get them added to APA, but I have not been impressed with them this winter. I would switch to White Chantecler.

John Blehm sells Buff Chantecler, he breeds to SOP. His website, http://chickhatchery.com

Question on the Java thread..
If a Cockeral has too many points (I think his had 8 or so) see on previous page..Would this bird be elimenated from shows, or just get points knocked off for being out of type ?
I was told a Java Cock should only have 5 points, and don't know how rigid the judges are on this subject ?
I don't think it wise to use him as breeding stock, what say you guys ?

I will return with the correct link..

NotaFarm is the one posted the Cockeral with 8 or 9 points..
