Kathy....GREAT looking birds!!! WOW is all I can say

Glad you got some coronations too

BTW - check your PMs about the birds I am sending to you

Off to church, y'all have a GREAT day!!! Its raining here....praise glory!!!!!

Ok I do not know much about these birds, except for the fact that they are about at POL. I do know that they came from a breeder south of Seattle Washington, but do not know who... Could you all take a look and tell me what you think of them? Are they heritage or no? They are both much larger than my NH Red pullet, both have a nice heavy frame... Pick away if you would, I wont be upset to find out if they are something special or not. Because iether way they are still great birds.

Thanks!

Except one is spelled incorrectly. The correct spelling is heritage.

I tried to get some pictures today that would capture how large these birds are. Can you see how far apart their legs are? I will get some weights on them, maybe tomorrow.

heritage. heritage.

I am now on my big computer that has a correct spell checker. I was using a lap top on the other posts and the key board is screwed up and I was very tired when I wrote those posts.

I have reviewed the pictures from Frank Reeses flock. They are sure nice barred rock large fowl. This strain goes back to the beginning for Frank Reese over 50 years ago when he got his start from Ralph Sturegon of Ohio. He got his barred rocks from Ralph Sturgeon of Ohio and he got his from E B Thompson of New York. These are the oldest line of Barred Plymouth Rocks in the world. Maybe the flocks in Australia may be about the same age but hard to tell right now. Frank has breed them pure and to the standard of perfection plus has put a twist on these birds to taste good. He sells these dressed out birds for a lot of money. He told me he keeps his incubator going all year long for over three years. Hatches thousands of chickens each year of different breeds plus his Turkeys which he breeds and sells thousdands. Based on these pictures and others who have posted the Barred Plymouth Rock breed in in very good shape with at least five top knotch breeders raising them in America today. Bob

I am raising Bobs line of White Rock large fowl and I am trying my hand at Partridge Rocks. I'll try and figure out how to post a few pics of the birds. Bob is going to help me cull and make my crosses to try and get the line to where they were 5 years ago. I am going to try and get the Partridges to the level of these whites if I can.

Bob,
If it wasn't for the spell check on my computer I don't think you could tell what I was trying to say at times..
