Duane Urch has Black Javas. I would think they are Heritage.

A Java bloodline chart was just sent out to Java people on another group from Jim Ward. Duane Urch in MN, Monte Bowen in KS, Jim Ward in OH, Roy Autrey in AR, Ronald Pierce in RI, Garfield Farms, and a Bill Robbins are listed as having/had Black Javas.

Last i new all of the javas in the usa are from his flock... he has had them over 60 years... i had got a start from Garfield Farms the 1st year they sold them (7 to 10 years ago i dont remember lol) and that is what they told me on the phone when i called in my order...

Very good thank you. I will some times post like this as I get emails from people who ask me where can I get this or that breed. Then I send them a link to the thread like this for them to read and then they can do the leg work. I dont have time to research every breed for every one but many do not know how to locate people with good strains. It is my hope that many of you who have gotten eggs or chicks from a good strain can then help others in the future. These people want a breed that looks respectable to the pictures that they think they will look like. Many breeds are so run down this is not poss able but we try to help them the best we can. Hopefully, you have a a top 100 breeds will start your own data bases with your friends so there could be a list of prov en small home hobbyist who can share with others in the future. The worse think is a person who ends up getting chicks or eggs who thinks they are the top strains in the USA and they are sub par feed store type birds. That is why they do want to up grade and make the move for a breed that is close to standard breed as they can get.

Thanks for your help and continue to promote the rare breeds to keep them from going extinct. bob

Just got a phone call from a fellow who says he calculates his shipping of his birds box and then prints out a label from his printer then takes the box and the bird to the post office pre paid and saves a lot on the shipping.
Do any of you send say a dozen eggs or ten started chicks in a box and print out your postage and then drop it off at the post office?":???????????
He said the savings is a lot com paired to going to the window. example I send ten started chicks white rock large fowl in a box weight is about 9 and half pounds its costing about $65. He thinks it would be reduced to about $45.
Look forward to what you guys may do who ship allot of eggs ect. bob
