I would like to add that I would not recommend anyone mixing there own feed from scratch unless you have a good idea of what you are doing, a good feed mill to by from and have some time on your hands.
I my self do not mix my own feed but I try to keep up on nutrition (you could call it a hobby).
The main reason I do not mix my feed is that is hard to find a mill that has what you will need to mix a complete feed for you poultry.
I will say that I do supplement my birds with a good grain mix and Black oil sun flower seed. More or less to "cut the protein in the feed and to add some fat to there diet.
Here is the Grain Mix -
Maintenance All Grain Pigeon Feed - 14% Protein - W/Corn
Contains: Canada Peas, Milo, Whole Wheat, Small Yellow Corn, Safflower Seed, Maple Peas, Flax, Brown Rice, Vetch, Buckwheat,
Oat Groats.
Crude Protein (min) 14.0% Crude Fat (min) 2.0% Crude Fiber (max) 9.0%
Black Oil Sunflower Seed -
15% protein - 32% fat/ oil - 3 1/2% of mineral salts - 28 to 30% of crude indigestible fiber.
